The company Altrad Fort originates from “The Fort”. The Fort, a metalware factory in Hardinxveld-Giessendam, was founded in 1950. In 1991, FORT Kruiwagens BV moved to Tiel, and from 2005, Altrad Fort director Herman Lindemann has been leading the company.

A step towards energy-neutral working

The environment has Altrad Fort's attention and in the interest of corporate social responsibility, Altrad Fort participated in September 2019 in the 'Sun on Industrial Roofs' project in Tiel. In addition, more than 2800 solar panels were installed on the roof of the factory. With this we want to work more environmentally conscious and make a stronger contribution to a cleaner environment.
This project was started on the initiative of OCT Tiel and was carried out by Econnetic (project manager) in collaboration with B&W (installer).

Update May 11th, 2022:
The solar panels also delivered good results in the second year. Some colleagues have also started driving hybrids, and our entire office has been fitted with new LED lighting. We continue to actively develop new initiatives to work more sustainably at Altrad Fort.

For the production in our factory we work together with Werkzaak Rivierenland, who are seconding talents who can use some extra support in finding work. We like to give these people a chance and this way bring more diversity in our organisation.
